G-STAR
When G-Star wanted to create their most sustainable casual boot line, they came to us. We designed a sustainable boot that could be worm with their new sustainable denim range for G-STAR RAW. From mood boards, sketches, renderings to protos and final shoe.
The project was aimed to create a statement for the brand and a showcase of G-STAR RAW footwear sustainability.
I used a corner stitch construction using no glue to stitch the upper to the unit, to help it to be disassembled and recycled at the end of its life. All elements of this boot are as sustainable as possible. Sole texture is inspired by architecture and specifically by OMA buildings. Upper design is minimalist, functional and disruptive inspired by Brutalism design. The outsole design is a mix of mechanical and organical shapes.
