Samuel Tavernier
After studying 5 years Industrial design in Paris (CREAPOLE E.S.D.I) and an incredible learning experience at an internship at Salomon, I landed a job at Fila sport in Italy. There I designed many technical cross-trainers and fashion sneakers. After that I traveled the world and designed for multiple outdoor brands, before I joined the design team at Clarks in England, designing sportswear, casual, lifestyle and smart shoes for the mens category. I also designed many projects for the Clarks Originals line. Having 200 years of archive to play with, there was a lot to learn from some incredible shoemakers and a wealth of constructions to explore. As lead mens designer in more recent years, I lead the creative direction and designed many cross gender unisex big profile products. More recently I have partnered with Vivo Barefoot who having a similar mindset to my own interms of pushing the ecological boundaries and striving for a greener shoe path, I have been able to gain a greater knowledge in this area.
I believe that design is a tool to improve our life quality for today and for the following generations.
We know that the future needs sustainability and I strive to use my knowledge and experience to create products that are better for the world.
